Caring Hearts

Renewing Lives

Thank you for helping look after the“little ones”

We wish to inform you that, effective September 30, With God’s Little Ones will be ceasing operations. Dorothy and I, now solidly into our eighties, feel it’s time to retire. We deeply appreciate the difference you’ve made in so many lives, including ours.

For almost 20 years, we at With God’s Litle Ones have tried to keep a caring eye out for folks who were in danger or went unnoticed. It may sound clichéd, but we’ve had some unforgettable moments.  We’ve seen and learned so much.

We can’t forget

  • Scrawny AIDS orphans in Uganda captivating us with straightforward innocence, charm, and vulnerability.

  • Frail-yet-regal Ugandan grandmas raising the orphans with tender grace.

  • Worn-out AIDS widows dancing powerfully at Sunday morning worship.

We were amazed at

  • Students from 10 St. Louis-area Lutheran and Catholic schools moving with zest, filling packets of Kids Against Hunger food for shipment to Mexico, Uganda, and Nicaragua.

  • The resilience of the villagers in Ankaramalaza, Madagascar, who rose above calamity and chaos and looked after their children and sick ones.

  • The strength of single parents in Nicaragua, northern Philippines, and Cambodia who’ve done what it takes to provide income for raising their kids (sewing, gardening, poultry-raising, carpentry, selling snacks to tourists)

We’re humbled by

  • Tenacious German country folks, who have welcomed Ukrainian refugee families and purchased the vehicles to transport medical supplies they’ve gathered into Ukraine

  • Cambodian teachers carrying on with school in their homes during stormy times.

  • And…

Generous, open people like you, trusting us, and compassionate toward others.

However, until then, every dollar received will be appreciated and used to:

  • continue our assistance to Ukrainian refugees and Ukrainians caught up in the conflict,

  • provide support to the poorest of the poor in southeast Madagascar, and

  • keep a caring eye out for the elderly, single mothers, struggling students, and other vulnerable ones in Cambodia.

Your continued support enables us to improve the health and safety of children, widows and caretakers.

Things to Think About

“You have shown us that Jesus takes care of us, poor as we are, the little ones of this world, to give us value and the hope of being able to get out of it.”
